Draft — pending legal review
This document is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. It does not yet constitute the final terms between you and UAE Business Circle. If you have questions, please contact us.
UAE Business Circle works because members trust each other. These guidelines set out what we expect of everyone here. They apply to your profile, your business listing, your messages, and your conduct at our events.
Breaching these guidelines may result in content being removed, or your membership being suspended or terminated under our Terms of Service.
1. Be who you say you are
- Use your real name and an accurate photo.
- Represent your company, role and experience honestly.
- Do not impersonate anyone, or claim an affiliation you do not have.
- Keep your business listing accurate and current.
2. Network, don't spam
This is a networking platform, not a mailing list. When you message another member:
- Make it relevant and personal. Say why you are reaching out.
- Do not send unsolicited bulk or templated sales pitches.
- Do not repeatedly message someone who has not replied.
- Respect a "no".
Contact details you find on this platform may only be used for genuine business networking. Do not add members to marketing lists, and do not export or harvest member data.
3. Treat people with respect
We do not tolerate:
- harassment, bullying, intimidation or threats;
- discrimination or hateful content on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, disability, age or any other protected characteristic;
- sexual harassment or unwanted advances;
- doxxing or publishing someone's private information.
Disagree professionally. Attack the argument, never the person.
4. Do business honestly
- Do not misrepresent your products, services, pricing or results.
- No pyramid schemes, chain referrals, or "get rich quick" offerings.
- Do not promote anything unlawful in the UAE.
- Honour the commitments you make to other members.
UAE Business Circle does not vet or endorse the businesses listed here. Members are expected to do their own due diligence — but we expect you to give them nothing to worry about.
5. Post appropriate content
Do not upload or share content that is:
- unlawful, defamatory or infringing on someone else's rights;
- obscene, violent or sexually explicit;
- malicious (malware, phishing, deceptive links);
- confidential to someone else, or shared without permission.
Only upload images and documents you have the right to use.
6. Respect events
- If you register, turn up — or cancel in good time so someone else can take your place.
- Follow the rules of the venue and the organiser.
- Your ticket is personal to you and is not transferable.
- Behave at events as you would here: professionally and respectfully.
7. Respect privacy
- Do not share private messages, or another member's contact details, without their consent.
- Do not photograph or record people at events without their agreement.
- Respect the visibility settings other members have chosen.
8. Keep the platform secure
- Do not share your account or your login credentials.
- Do not scrape, crawl or automate access to the platform.
- Do not attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not entitled to.
- If you find a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly via our contact page rather than exploiting or publicising it.
9. Reporting a problem
If you see a listing, profile, message or behaviour that breaches these guidelines, please report it. You can report a business listing directly from its page, or contact us. We review every report.
You will not be penalised for reporting something in good faith.
10. How we enforce this
Depending on the severity and the circumstances, we may:
- ask you to edit or remove content;
- remove content, a listing, or a profile;
- issue a warning;
- suspend your membership; or
- terminate your membership.
Serious breaches — harassment, fraud, or anything unlawful — may result in immediate termination without warning, and may be reported to the authorities.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, ask us. We would much rather have the conversation than remove a member.
